Hello everyone, thank you in advance for any advice. Yesterday I got an oil change, and had the front end inspected. The truck has developed a pretty good shake on the highway. The mechanic came back, and said that my front left wheel bearing needed to be replaced. I was given an estimate for $800. 500 for the wheel bearing, 300 for labor. Is this a fair price? They told me I had two options for the wheel bearing. One cheaper at 400, one slightly better at 500. So is 800 a fair estimate, and do I need to get the nicer wheel bearing? Will it make a difference?
