When removing bearing always have emory cloth and polish the shaft smooth removing any burrs with a file.  Apply lubricant and vibration is your best friend applied with a swinging hammer or air hammer is best.  The next best thing to heat removing tight things is vibration.

That's a good idea, because there may be some situations where space it limited and a person could use short, proper length bolt and grind it, then use a H-bar or plate to begin the pull.

Before we bought this set we used to make similar thing by grinding a proper size bolt to fit in between the inner and the outer ring
