Why not just install super susans and put the center one an adjustable shelf?... No service calls, easy to install, looks better than plastic, no pole and they rotate independently...

iglidur plain bearings are press-fit bearings. The inner diameter adjusts itself only after the bearing has been press-fitted in the H7 housing hole with the recommended tolerance. The press-fit excess dimension can be up to 2% of the inner diameter. This ensures the secure press-fitting of the bearings. Axial or radial movements in the housing are reliably avoided.

Thanks Scott, I am in Mexico so acquiring the hinges is part of the problem. I'd sure like to be able to do all boring and fit the doors before installing. I'll be making a trip to Guadalajara (500 miles r/t) so I'll see what I can find.

Go to www.richelieu.com and see if you can open an account from the nearest warehouse. They will have whatever you need. Is the kitchen a faceframe or frameless? You will need 2 170 degree hinges plus 2 corner bifold hinges for the second door as well as hinge plates, harold. If you cant find them, let me know and i can send them to you from my stock. My shop is in Ft. Lauderdale and shipping cant be that much. Harold.

Kriss, we have put kidney susan after the fact, place both trays inside cabinet than insert pole thru each shelf and place pole in socket on floor and ceiling. Lift center shelf to correct height and secure hub bearing. In regards to hinges, I would take extra pair of 170' hinges with plates and a pair of pie cut hinges along. Cheaper to put back in stock than not finish the job. Good luck, Scott

I have a job that requires a 32" kidney shape lazy susan. I have never installed one of these. The problem lies in that the hardware is supposed to be supplied by the homeowner, who lives in Canada, and the job is in Mexico. He wants to bring it with him in December but he also wants his kitchen including granite counter top installed when he arrives. I am thinking it is very hard if not impossible to install the LS after the cabinets and counter top are in place. Also he increased the height of his base cabinets by 2". I'm pretty sure they also need special face frame hinges. Any ideas or opinions? Thanks

iglidur® plain bearings are supplied ready for installation. The extensive product line makes it possible to use a standard dimension in most cases. If subsequent machining of the plain bearings is nevertheless necessary, the adjacent table shows the machining guide values. If possible, however, subsequent machining of the sliding surfaces should be avoided. Higher wear rate is most often the result. One exception is the B iglidur® M250, which is very well suited for subsequent machining. It is not usually necessary to use an adhesive to fit the bearing. If a bearing is likely to lose its firm fit on account of high temperatures, a more temperature-resistant plain bearing should be used. If, however, there are plans to secure the bearings with adhesive, it will be necessary to perform suitable tests in each case. It is not possible to simply transfer the successful results seen in other applications.

How to assemble a lazy susancabinet

The hole in the housing should be made with the recommended tolerance (H7) for all bearings and be smooth, flat and chamfered. The bearing should be press-fitted using a flat press. The use of centring or calibrating pins can cause damage to the bearings and bring a greater amount of clearance.

The installation height and tolerances of the iglidur®® bearings are dependent on the material and wall thickness. The moisture absorption and thermal expansion are decisive for the material. Bearings with low moisture absorption can be installed with a small bearing clearance. The following applies to the wall thickness: The thicker the bearing, the greater the clearance of the bearing must be.

Concerning the hinges. Not because the height of the door, I guess I expressed my idea poorly. the owner is supplying an off brand 35 cup hinge for face frames. They open to 105°, 1/2" overlay. The doors for the LS need a hinge that opens 180° and what about the hinge that connects the 2 doors ? If you are talking about the 2 trays and a pole lazy susan,then yes it can be install after the fact.Done it many times. As far as "special"hinges because of the height of the cabinet,i am a little lost of what you thinking.
