Ball bearings are versatile, self-retaining bearings with solid outer rings, inner rings, ball and cage assemblies. Ball bearings support radial and axial loads through low frictional torque, making them ideal for high speed applications. Ball bearings are most commonly used for controlling oscillatory and rotational motion. They tend to have a lower load capacity due to the smaller contact area between the balls and races.
