I was just on some Abec 7, the tolerance for aerospace & stuff, & they were pretty slow. I mean they spun faster with my hand turning the wheel, but actually out there rolling down a slight hill, my old ZeroDrag no abec rating bearings on worn out 80mm wheels that don't spin fast with my hand, beat the abec 7 in new 90mm wheels (coulda been other reasons cuz they were different skates too, Idk).

Has anyone done the Pepsi Challenge with different Abecs? Do people still remember what a Pepsi challenge is, is there a new way to say it?

ABEC9Bearings

The vast majority (more than 98%) of ball bearings sold every year belong to the ABEC 1-3 classes – with tolerances that are down to the 4th decimal place! – and can satisfy the vast majority of applications.

ABEC11bearingsvsABEC7

The scale has five categories of tolerance: 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. Higher ratings mean the bearing has greater efficiency, precision, and speed capabilities. This means the bearing has more reliable performance at high speeds, not necessarily that it can spin faster. The ABEC scale is extremely precise; each class differs only by a few microns of acceptable deviation in tolerance. Any bearing below ABEC 1 requirements is not classified as a precision bearing. High rated bearings are typically used for applications such as aircraft instruments, robotics, and surgical equipment, as well as other industries with high speed and low friction requirements. Lower rated bearings are more widely used in applications such as skateboards, industrial machinery, agriculture, and vehicles.

if you need a super precise, long-lasting bearing, ABEC 7 is probably the bearing for you. Applications for highly rated ABEC bearings include Machine Tools, Aerospace, Medical devices and more.

Is skating one of those super precision needing scenarios? The site says abec1-3 bearings are precise to 4 decimal places. Sounds super precise & we're just rolling our wheels on the ground with them. Another bearing manufacturer says abec doesn't affect how fast, but more reliable performance at higher speeds.
