Taperedrollerbearing
Cylindrical roller bearings have higher radial capacity when compared to ball bearings. The most common types of cylindrical roller bearings are NJ, NU, NUP, NF and N. The NJ type and NF type will take some axial load in one direction only. The N type NU type will only take radial load with no axial load carrying capacity. The NUP type is designed to take some axial loading in both directions. The NN type and NNU type are double row designs and are also available, but less commonly used.

A needle roller bearing is a special type of roller bearing which uses long, thin, cylindrical rollers resembling needs. Their rolling elements are small in diameter and long in length. Needle roller bearings are compact in size, can carry high radial loads and have limited speeds. They can be supplied with or without an inner race and are typically found in the aerospace industry, rocker arms, cam followers, gearboxes, vehicle transmissions, prop shafts and more.

Tapered roller bearings consist of both tapered rollers and raceways and have the ability to carry a combination of radial and thrust loads. This type of bearing is ideal in heavy duty applications where radial and axial forces are prevalent. Tapered roller bearings include an inner ring assembly that consists of the inner ring, cage and rollers (also referred to as the cone) and the out ring (referred to as the cup).

Spherical roller bearings are designed to accommodate heavy loads, heavy vibration and misalignment. As a result of greater internal radial clearance versus deep groove ball bearings, special shaft and housing fits as required. Their ability to support heavy vibration and misalignment makes them ideal for applications for the aggregate industry and vibrator/shaker motors as well as gear boxes, large electric motors, generators and other heavy-duty applications.

Roller bearings make line contact with the raceway surfaces that allow them to handle heavy, shock and/or impact loading. Various roller shapes such as cylindrical, spherical, tapered and needle rolling elements can reduce friction and support both radial and axial loads. Optional offerings may include cages, cage design, cage material and internal clearance. Bartlett Bearing supplies roller bearings that are available in a range of shapes and roller profiles with options available for specific applications. Call our technical support staff to discuss the best options and ensure you select the right model.

They are available in single or multiple bearing assemblies with options in inch and metric sizes as well as various grades of precision.
These bearings are typically used as the free or float bearing in an electric motor or in belt driven or non-direct coupled applications on the drive end of a motor, where heavy radial loads are prevalent.
