Hollow threaded rodsizes

I'm looking at using HY-270 to post install 3/4" dia threaded rods into the side of a multi-wythe brick wall. If I design the anchors assuming the wall is solid, the minimum edge distance is 8", which comes with a reduction factor of 0.5, and leads to a shear capacity of ~1000lbs/bolt. If I design the anchors assuming the wall is hollow, the minimum, and only edge distance listed is 4", and gives a shear capacity of ~1000lbs/bolt. Would it make sense to assume a hollow wall, design for ~1000lbs/bolt based on the 4" edge distance, and if the wall turns out to be solid, then my design should be conservative?

Budget Open Deep Groove Ball Bearings: One of the most commonly used bearings, the open types are manufactured without seals to allow for the free circulation of either oil or grease, used in gearboxes and other environments where no foreign matter would be present and a lubricant supply is available. Benefits: Used widely in transmissions etc, can be used in oil or greased, cost effective solution

Hi Chris, For installations into the side of a hollow multi-wythe brick wall, Hilti only has testing for HIT-HY 270 with a 3/8" diameter threaded rod which can be found on page 190 of Hilti's Anchor Fastening Product Technical Guide. There is no testing for installations into the side of a solid multi-wythe brick wall or for another other size of threaded rod. The decision to use HIT-HY 270 outside of Hilti's testing would be up to the discretion of the Engineer of Record on the project. Regards,Ashley
