Trailer grease seals & oil seals should be inspected frequently and replaced if they show signs of wear such as excess grease build up on the inside of wheel hub or trailer rim. Hub grease seals help prevent water and dirt from entering the hubs providing protection against bearing failure. Oil seals and grease seals have a single or double flexible lip that rubs against a shaft or housing to prevent lubricant leakage or the intrusion of water and dirt. Unitized seals are a two part seal, the inner portion stays fixed to the spindle and the outer portion rotates with the hub. This type of seal provides more surface contact with the spindle which creates a better seal with less wear and tear. We also sell the 'Spindo Seal' kit that helps eliminate excessive grease leakage caused by rough sealing surfaces. High-quality neoprene seals ride on a smooth stainless steel surface.
