any ideas how i can remove the outer shell of a bearing from my canaan swingarm ?? Cant knock it out from the back as you cant get too it properly ?? tried warming it up and tapping from the back ,best i can but still nothing …. bloody thing wont budge . any ideas of who may be able to get it out ??

I had tihs with my reign. Resorted to putting the rear triangle in the freezer, then using a lot of precision force wit ha hammer and screw driver to get the shell out.

No, you can remove outer races aswell as complete bearings. U can get the claws to grab on the bearing surface, you just need to tighten it up more. Once you have moved it a tad you can then move the claws to behind the race..

stumpy you have it the right way – putting the whole thning in the freezer then applying heat to the outside would be best to get the most out of differential expansion and stuff

dremmel will do the job, i’ve had to resort to using one in similar circumstances, try grinding 3 slots (2 opposite each other)then use a large screwdriver in the slot you’ve created the twisting should break the shell away from the bearing seat

Personally I don’t think the sealy one that snaps has highlighted will work.The blind puller kits consist of a set of split collets into which you screw a tapered bolt. This has the effect of expanding the collets into a recess ( be it the bearing race or the gap behind the bearing) on to the bolt you attach the slide hammer and pull the bearing out.

coner …. frezzer ?? i thought heat would of been better as the ali will expand faster than the steel , so loosening the bearing shell .. or have i got it round the wrong way and i need to frezze it not heat it ??
