Set screw ball bearings are specially designed for bearing units and come in a range of models depending on the mounting.

NSK ball bearing units combine a bearing, housing, and sealing components into a standardized form used in the key parts of equipment. They are versatile and easy to use.

These bearing housings have a square flange which can be easily attached to a machine with four bolts. With a simple mounting face, square flanged units are widely used.

These units feature a bearing housing with a diamond-shaped flange for easy mounting to the machine base or side wall with two bolts. They are ideal for applications where mounting space and the distance between shafts is small. Often, the spacing between bolt holes is equal to the diagonal positioning of square-flange types.

Pillow blocks (plummer blocks) are the most common type of bearing unit. The complete units feature a bearing mounted in a simple, rigid housing. They are extensively used in a range of transmission equipment and general machinery.

Using a ball bearing unit simplifies the surrounding structure and makes mounting and maintenance more efficient. As they provide the proper alignment, bearing units help prevent moment loads caused by mounting error. Bearing units can also be easily mounted on the machine base or side walls so they can be used in all kinds of places, including frame structures.
