Earnshaw's theorem

We have developed a Wheel Bearing Greaser Tool that allows you to easily add grease to the bearings. Once your 1/2 shaft is out, or when you have a new bearing on your bench, simply use the Greaser Tool to push the grease into the bearing.  You can see it work: When you pump, the grease will fill the cavity and excess will be eventually evident out of the sides of the bearing, so you know it’s full.  Then, simply pull the Greaser Tool back out.

“I have a 2013 Polaris Sportsman 550 Touring with very low miles.  I saw the Machine Intergrations product on U Tube and thought it was interesting.  Purchased the MI-BGP-1628 which was for my model.  I opted to remove the front bearing housing as it made it easier to grease.  A bit more work but worth it.  All four bearings took over twenty shots of grease.  Spin the bearings and another four shots of grease.  Not a doubt that this was highly beneficial as well as VERY easy to do.  A great product at a great price. ” –  Doc M. No friction, no limits: magnetic bearings not only increase service life, they also enable oil-free operation in a vacuum at maximum speeds. Our technology allows you to reach 500,000 rpm and more.

Rollingbearing

With this type of magnetic bearing, the speed is limited by increasing eddy-current losses in the rotor and stator iron, a limited actuator bandwidth and the high reactive power requirement. Therefore, such magnetic bearings have been limited to maximum speeds of around 120,000 rpm. To overcome this limitation, Celeroton has developed a new magnetic bearing concept. It enables speeds of 500,000 rpm and more – a world record for magnetic-bearing actuators. The bearing is based on Lorentz forces instead of reluctance forces. These Lorentz forces are generated by a winding in the air gap between the rotor magnets and the stator iron and controlled by currents in the winding. The magnetic field of the permanent magnet is also used to generate the torque. This enables a compact design as a so-called bearingless motor.

A number of emerging applications ask for a dramatically improved performance of femtosecond laser systems concerning pulse energy. Due to limitations in the amplifier medium, further improvements within the laser source are increasingly challenging. Stacking of multiple amplified pulses via methods such as Stack-and-Dump seems to be a possible solution.

The magnetic bearing motor CM-AMB-400 with a chopper rotor is demonstrated in the video below. A laser beam (generated by a FP-Mini-520 from Laser Components) is cropped by a precision pinhole with an opening of 500 µm, then passes through the chopper and detected by a photodiode (ODD-1WB by Opto Diode). The current of the photodiode is amplified by a transimpedance amplifier and made visible with a digital oscilloscope.

High speed rotating elements, such as disc shaped rotors crossing a beam, infrared and X-ray choppers, are used to deflect a beam. The modular assembly of the magnetic bearing motor CM-AMB-400 allows the use of an application specific rotor. The concept of the magnetic bearing motor is such that a beam can be guided in radial or axial direction to the rotor to be deflected or chopped by the rotation.

Bearing

The new Magnetic Bearing Controller, CC-AMB-1500, is the perfect fit for Celeroton’s high-speed magnetic bearing motors. Thanks to the integration of the bearing and drive control, the compact controller is ideally suited to drive various high speed, high precision motor applications.

Every engineer knows this equation: those who operate at high speeds must expect high wear and a corresponding reduction in service life of the ball bearings – even more so in a vacuum, as the lubricant either evaporates or is not permitted at all. As a high-speed specialist, Celeroton is no stranger to this challenge. Celeroton magnetic bearing technology offers a solution to this problem.

Most magnetic bearings are based on reluctance forces. A magnetic flux in the air gap between the stator and the rotor generates these forces, while stator currents regulate the flux.

Infrared (IR) nanospectroscopy is a non-destructive method for the analysis of molecular structures below the wavelength scale. It is used in a broad range of research applications spanning from biochemistry to geology. A magnetic bearing chopper is a core component to bring this IR method to the next level of spatial resolution. It provides the beam chopping functionality in vacuum, at high frequency and with very low jitter.
