Banshee and Troll were summer patients from central Puget Sound, getting separated from their moms before they were ready to be on their own in the wild. After gaining the weight and skills needed to return to the ocean, they headed home together at the beginning of November. Thank you to everyone who helped these seal pups get a second chance, from the folks who called them in, to our Stranding Network Partners, to everyone who donates their time and money to ensure sick and injured sea life get the care they need. #MarineMammalRescue #HarborSeal #Seals #WildlifeRehab

Sphinx is gaining weight! He’s been chowing down on his own holiday meals, healing from illness, injury and malnutrition. He came into care in October, severely underweight at only 23 pounds, but he’s on the road to recovery with the help of medication, vitamins, and regular feeds. #MarineMammalRescue #WildlifeRehab #Seals

Griffin was our first patient of the 2024 pupping season. The beginning of his care was standard, but after a week of regular meals, animal care staff began to notice that something was wrong. It turned out that Griffin had a condition called megaesophagus. Read about Griffin’s incredible recovery at https://lnkd.in/gSJWvvYw. #Seal #MarineMammalRescue #AnimalHospital #VeterinaryMedicine

Prometheus was one of the first patients of the summer, arriving in May due to maternal separation from human disturbance. Despite her rough beginnings, she sped through care, learning how to eat fish and gaining enough weight to return to the wild in 67 days. Please remember to keep your distance from marine mammals resting on beaches and keep your pets on a leash. Even though we’re past pupping season, it’s still important to give these animals space! If you see a sick or injured seal, please call the Marine Mammal Stranding Hotline at 1-866-767-6114. #MarineMammal #HarborSeal #Seal #Pup
