The vacuum test doesn’t test at very high pressure, but it does give you the peace of mind that the enclosures are properly shut and airtight. We usually do this test after opening and closing an enclosure and before the first dive of the day.

This hand-operated vacuum pump with gauge makes it easy to verify the seals on a watertight enclosure. Comes with hose and vacuum adapter compatible with the Pressure Relief Valve and Vent.

If the vacuum pump becomes difficult to pump, disassemble it and lightly lubricate the inside of the pump body cylinder following the Mityvac rebuild instructions. Use a low-viscosity silicone oil such as Super Lube Silicone oil 100 CST.
