Direct sunlight, it has a sun filter wich works fine but its a problem at long distances (cooling tower for example, if TKSA80 connection dont fail its great with direct sunlight).

Our GMN Gap Seals are plastic and a great choice for washdown applications, such as food conveyors and food manufacturing facilities
We stock GMN manufactured high precision bearings, manufactured in ABEC 7 (P4+) accuracy classes with ABEC 9 (P2) running accuracy. GMN bearings are known for reliability, precision, and quality since 1908.
20211029 — The easiest way to mount this type of bearing is to press it into place. However, certain tolerances are necessary in the dimensions for the shaft and housing.

No built-in ball bearing support. Good for large orders & low to high torque needs: 1 to 2673 Nm. Bore (ID) sizes: 2 to 240 mm (0.078 to 9.448 in)
Designed with grooves in the outer ring to offer more protection (than our L-type seal) against contamination and direct spray liquids. Liquid gets pushed out through outer grooves when in rotation.
... equipment and heavy-load-bearing shafts. The type of pillow block bearing you need depends on the equipment you have, the load it will bear, and the speed ...
Radial ball bearings, also known as deep groove ball bearings, support low to moderate RPMs, medium loads in both axial directions. GMN’s top radial ball bearings include our 6000 & 6200 series, both manufactured to ISO 15 standards.
Don't get hung up on cost alone. If the alignment system costs $30,000 it can usually pay that back in precision alignment and speed of alignments with a competent operator. Sure price counts, but it shouldn't be the number 1 priority in the decision making process.
If you aren't using your bearing at high operational speeds or you don't have the machine space for a matched set of bearings then Radial Ball Bearings will probably be your best fit.
The best protection for your bearing. Easy to install with a simple “drop-in” next to your bearing. No added space needed. CF seals offer 100% sealing efficiency against splashing liquids.
Angular contact bearings, also known as spindle bearings, support high RPMs, medium to heavy loads, & axial loads in one direction. Our angular contact bearing product lines include our S, SM, and KH series.
I also feel like IrishMark. Figure out what you need to accomplish with the alignment goals you need. Write down that list. Then bring in different vendors to demo their products. Prufteknik Rotalign Ultra iS are great machines (we use them here) But not everyone needs everything that it can do. There are many companies selling alignment systems... Some work great for very basic get it in the ballpark alignment. But you get what you pay for.
We use the Pruftechnic Rotalign IS. However, we are an alignment consulting group. We use all the features of the box, shaft alignment, bore alignment, vertical machine alignment, level alignment, etc. It is also NIST traceable which is a requirement for some of our projects.
I am currently looking to upgrade our Laser Alignment tools. We currently have several different brands and we will standardize on one. Just seeking end users experience with different brands, not looking for sales pitch. Any info is appreciated. Items we are looking at, ease of use, ease of downloading, battery life, etc..
Applications that operate at high speeds, carry heavy loads, and/or require tight rigidity usually require an ABEC 7 high precision bearing. Our GMN German-manufactured, ABEC 7 high precision bearings are a great choice for these applications.
Our large inventory of high precision bearings is available in many sizes, and options. Most major precision bearing brands can be interchanged with a GMN high precision bearing. 99% of our orders are shipped out the same day the PO is sent!
For example, we offer ORS radial ball bearings because GMN doesn’t produce A5 radial ball bearings, a product that will support speeds as low as 3300 rpm. We heard from our customers that they need these types of radial ball bearings for certain applications, so we made a decision to start carrying ORS radial ball bearings.
I appreciate your time in generating a response but it adds no value. I assumed this forum was a collective network one could generate a post for information, anticipating positive feedback....
Generally speaking, if your precision bearing will be operating at high speeds with heavy loads, you will probably need an Angular Contact Bearing. These bearings are optimized for higher speeds and are designed with more balls per bearing.
Vibration, it has an accelerometer for rotation angle measurements, with vibration the "auto measure mode/autosweept" won´t stop, and live movements are "crazy".
Big J the TKSA51 will cover up to 5metre centres and has similar user interface. Tksa11 is only for smaller pumps 18cm centres.
Along with our GMN manufactured ball bearing products, we supply ABEC 5 radial bearings from ORS. This includes the ORS THIN, 6000, 6200, and 6300 series.

This heavy-duty clutch (aka a hold-back clutch) is good for high torque operations and ensures motion freezes in place. Bore (ID) sizes: 15 to 40 mm. (0.59 to 1.73 in)
If you have several different brands already, why can't you make a list of pros and cons and choose amongst them? Why would you even consider choosing a brand that you don't even have it all? Do you even know what features are important to you? Have you personally used each of these brands your company has, or are you relying on the user experience from others in your company? What upgrade features do you think are really important for the types of equipment and personnel skill levels you have? No, I'm not a salesman, and I still use an old invisible beam ALI 2000 laser system!Walt
Regarding listing pros and cons for our existing units is irrelevant due to the age of the units. Why would we choose a brand we do not have? - It only seems practical to way all options with all units - new and old. Yes, I do understand what features would add value for my team - I did not want to lead/restrict opinions. Yes I am an experienced user in my past but also open to "constructive" feedback from those that utilize these tools on a daily basis.
Applications that operate in extreme environments typically require special bearings. We offer customized bearing options to best fit applications such as:
Bluetooth range is great, bluetooth on TKSA80 you have to keep sensors and tablet close to each other or direct view or else will have conection problem.
Bearings are used across industries such as aerospace, robotics & automation, power generation, medical, construction, automotive, and more. Our engineers work with a variety of applications. This includes, but is not limited to:
High-temperature flange bearings with 4 mounting holes, EFSM-HT, igubal®, spherical ball iglide® X.
Includes built-in ball bearing support. Supports HEAVY loads & has a high torque capacity: 53 to 588 Nm. Bore (ID) sizes: 10 to 60 mm (0.393 to 2.362 in)
We have a TKSA 11 as well. Comparing that to a rotoalign is like comparing a Yugo to a Ferrari. They both serve a purpose. The interface on the TKSA 11 is the easiest I have used. I could teach someone with little alignment experience to use it in 5 minutes, however, it is very limited in the span between measurement points....I have begun to appreciate the companies that take a product like an iPad and use it for our purposes. The cost savings and ability to update the products quickly is in my opinion the wave of the future. Why build your product around a proprietary piece of hardware that will be outdated by the time you release it? An iPad can be had for 400 bucks and offers more computing power and the latest screen technology out there. So I would take a look at the products that utilize the Apple ios platform (GTI Predictive, SKF, etc...).
Because of the relationships we have built over time, we do stock other product lines from quality brands. We do this only if GMN Germany doesn’t manufacture an equivalent GMN product.

Radial forces are longitudinal forces produced as a result of rotation. They are applied to the wheel bearing at a right angle to the longitudinal axis.
We know that not every application requires super, high-precision bearings. We stock other industrial parts from quality brands.
Bearing precision is important, especially if your equipment is using the bearing at max speed. Precision classes set the bearing properties to ensure uniformity and regulation standards are met.
