The Ball & Roller Bearing Division (formerly the Ball & Roller Bearing Company) has a prestigious history of manufacturing bearings in Connecticut for over 110 years.  We manufacture a complete line of ball thrust bearings, cylindrical roller thrust bearings,  cylindrical radial roller bearings,  spherical roller bearings, and journal roller bearings.  In addition to our standard line of bearings, we provide design and manufacturing services for many “special” bearings built to our customers specifications.

We service both OEM and the industrial power transmission aftermarket, and market our products directly to manufacturers as well as through our nationwide system of distributors.  Diameters range from 1/2″ to 24″, in both English and Metric dimensions.  All of our bearings are made in our facility in Connecticut and comply with all ABMA, ABEC and RBEC specifications and tolerances.  All bearings are made using hardened and ground bearing steels, with machined bronze or steel used for rolling element retainers.

We also can supply your loose bearing ball requirements.  These balls can be supplied in accordance with the applicable Mil Spec with chemical and physical certifications if required.  They are available in all grades, sizes and materials, including chrome steel, stainless steel, carbon steel, brass, bronze, tungsten carbide, aluminium, K-Monel, glass, plastic and ceramic.  We stock a large inventory of precision sizing balls, ranging in size from 1/64″ to over 1″ in diameter and everything in between, carried out to as many as 5 decimal places.  Most are available for immediate delivery.

Ceramic cylinder roller bearings are used in radial highly loaded cylindrical roller bearings and highly loaded axial cylindrical roller bearings. Silicon Nitride Si3N4-cylinder rollers are preferred over steel rollers due to their relative lightness, high hardness, smoothness and above all by their high load capacities. Bear in mind some manufacturers of steel roller bearings complement their product range by offering hybrid roller bearings using bought-in ceramic components. For smooth and stable ceramic roll behavior, consistent dimensions, high surface quality, roundness, smoothness of the lateral area and face are all highly significant. Regular external ceramic materials tests by a German test institute ensure constantly high quality. We deliver ceramic cylinder rollers in the following sizes:

Gehrig® ceramic cylinder roller (rolling bodys) made of technical ceramic. Rolling elements made of high-strength, shape stable Si3N4 ceramic. Si3N4-rollers have a high mechanical toughness, are very robust under load but relatively light. Si3N4-cylinder-rolling elements have highest dynamic and static load capacities. Therefore they are mainly used as components cylinder roller bearings.Available are accurate to size and form-fitting Si3N4 silicon nitrde cylinderroller according to DIN 5402-1 from D 5x5mm, D 6x6mm, D 8x8mm; D 10x10mm, D 11x11mm, D 12x12mm, D 14x14mm sorted in 1µm range.
