Self aligning Ball Bearing (Type Code 1)This type of bearing has double rows of balls and a concave raceway in outer side.2. Spherical Roller Bearing (Type Code 2)This type of bearing has double rows of rollers, a concave raceway in outer side and double raceways in inner side.3. Double row Angular contact Ball bearing (Type Code 3)This type of bearing has double rows of balls and double concave raceway in outer side and inner side.4. Double row Ball Bearing (Type Code 4)This type of bearing has its design similar to single row ball bearing. The only difference is that it has double rows of balls.5. Thrust Ball bearing (Type Code 5)This type of bearing has washer type raceway in both sides surrounding the caged rolling balls. They are used where rotation is required between parts of a system.6. Single row deep groove ball bearing (Type Code 6)They are the most commonly used ball bearings. Suitable for small axial loads.7. Single row angular contact bearing (Type Code 7)They are generally used for axial and radial loads. But only in one direction.8. Felt seal bearing (Type Code 8)This type of bearing contains one or more felt seals. Its inner raceway is a bit large. This is to ensure that the seal edge should not go beyond inner raceway.9. Tapered Roller Bearing (Type Code 32/T)This type of bearing is most commonly used for wheels. They have rollers in place of balls and are conical in shape. They can withstand high axial/radial loads.10. Inch Bearing (Type Code R)Available in various shapes and designsThey are ball bearings with one row and are available in various inch sizes.11. Cylindrical roller bearing (Type Code N)These types of bearings use cylinders as rollers in place of balls. They are available in various shapes and designs.12. Double row roller bearing (Type Code MN)Available in various shapes and designsAs the name suggests, they have two rows of rollers. They can withstand heavy loads.13. Needle roller bearing (Type Code NA)These types of bearings contain cylinders as rollers. They are name so because the length of the cylinder used is much more in comparison to its diameter.14. Needle roller bearing with closed end (Drawn cup) (Type Code BK)These types of needle roller bearings are made closed type to protect it from any moisture ingress and external contaminants. They hold the grease within it.15. Needle roller bearing with open ends (Drawn cup)(Type Code HK)These types of needle roller bearings are same as needle roller bearing with closed end except that its both ends are open.16. CARB toroidal roller bearings (Type Code C)It contains the properties of both spherical rollers as well as cylindrical rollers i.e. it is self-aligning as well as free in axis.17. Needle roller and cage thrust assembly (Type Code K)They are similar to Thrust ball bearing except that they contains cylindrical rollers in place of balls.18. Four-point contact ball bearings (Type Code QJ)They are similar to single row angular contact ball bearing except than in this case, both the inner and outer raceways are split in two half sections. Also Read : SPM readings How to operate Shock Pulse tester

Bearing typesand names
I am looking to purchase my first van here in the next few weeks. This will serve as a place to live (minimalist, I'm not going to do anything to the interior) and as a work van for hauling things and towing my utility trailer. I recently had my Dodge Ram blow up on me so I am looking strictly at reliability when it comes to picking the right van. What are your thoughts on the reliability of the Transit 250/350 compared to the Express 2500/3500? I had been planning on the Express 2500 because I've heard great things about the 6.0L engine and overall reliability and strength of these vans, but I thought I would look into the Transit as well because I know if all things being equal I would much prefer the high roof of a Transit.
