There are also a number of shield and seal options that protect the friction surfaces from debris or contaminants; these include (2RS) denoting two rubber seals and (ZZ) which denotes two metal shields. Both the metal shields and rubber seals can be used individually protecting just one side of the bearing or both depending on your requirements.
Means "increased internal clearance". Often referred to as high-speed, this means that the bearing is designed for high rotational speeds and moderately high temperatures. CAUTION: a bearing with increased internal clearance will not operate optimally at low speeds. Please refer to the data sheet for the bearing you are looking for to find out its rotation speed limit.

Taper Roller Bearings: These are different in that they are tapered in order to with stand axial loads. These bearings do not come in shielded or sealed options and are roller rather than ball bearings. They are made up of cups and cones and are available in both metric and imperial sizes. Taper roller bearings are still measured in the same way, Inside diameter x Outside diameter x Width and are also identified again buy a set of numbers and sometimes letters depending on the manufacturer.
These suffixes mean "with 1 or 2 rubber seals". At 123Roulement, we use the number "2" to specify when the bearing is sealed on both sides.

A stainless steel bearing is generally magnetizable, as it is made from AISI 420 stainless steel, which is harder and more shock-resistant than standard stainless steel (AISI 304).To check whether your bearing is made of stainless steel, simply read the reference engraved on the side of the bearing. This reference should begin with the prefix "S" meaning "Stainless Steel".
These suffixes indicate that the cage (the part of the bearing that holds the balls apart) is made of polymer material. Usually made of glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide.
Measuring your bearing: Most bearings are measured in three ways, the inside diameter or (ID), the outside diameter or (OD) and the width or (W).
Type 2: Roller bearings: Consisting of Tapered Roller bearings which are great for axial loads due to their shape, Needle Roller Bearings , Spherical and Cylindrical.

The Deep Groove Ball Bearing, known as 7203-2RS Generic, has an inner diameter of 17 mm, an outer diameter of 40 mm and a thickness of 12 mm.
There are two main types of bearing and both consist of an inner race way, outer race way and the rolling element. Bearings are typically used to limit the radial and axil movements of rotating and reciprocating equipment whilst facilitating minimal friction against rotation.

C3 clearance will allow faster running speeds and higher temperatures without failure. There are further clearances that can be ordered so please get in touch if you have special requirements these are shown below: sales@bearingtech.co.uk

These suffixes mean "with 1 or 2 sheet metal deflectors", for dust-tightness. At 123Roulement, we specify whether the bearing is sealed on 2 sides with "ZZ".

Type 1: Ball bearings: Are great at dealing with radial loads and come in a few varieties, Deep Groove, Angular Contact, Self Aligning and Thrust bearings.
Bearingtech are able to supply bearings in a range of manufacturers including FAG, SKF, NSK/RHP, DUNLOP and Timken as well as supplying unbranded or budget bearings.
You will also need to know what clearance you require. There are two main clearances which are; normal clearance with no suffix and C3 greater than normal clearance.
It is important to note that our bearing measurements are all done in the following order: Inside diameter (ID) x Outside diameter (OD) x Width (W).

The ABEC standard is used to classify bearings according to their machining tolerance. This standard is regularly called into question because it does not include certain technologies that are important for guaranteeing proper operation, both in terms of efficiency and bearing life.123Roulement therefore makes little use of this standard.
This suffix indicates that the bearing is designed for very high operating temperatures. In general, the temperature is indicated after this suffix.Beware, these bearings are not suitable for all applications, and will require a high temperature for optimum service life.
Some bearings are available with more or less important variants (high or low internal clearance, special grease, very high temperature, etc.). These variants are systematically indicated by prefixes and suffixes in the part number. For example, the suffix "2RS" means that the bearing is splash-proof, thanks to a sealing flange on both sides of the bearing. The suffix "C3" means that the bearing has increased internal clearance, and will require a higher operating temperature, or a higher rotation speed.
How to identify or measure your bearing. Most bearings will contain identifying marks and these are usually a series of numbers and some times letters. Identifying a bearing can be complicated at times but this page is designed to help simplify the process.
