Sprockets and chain make continuous contact through the rollers on your chain. Little or no lubrication between the rollers and the teeth, cause your sprockets to wear, which in turn causes the chain to wear more quickly. For a long life of your chain and sprockets it is therefore important to lubricate them regularly. This can of course be done manually with chain spray or chain grease, but on a long motorcycle trip this is an annoying and often recurring task. A chain lubrication system offers the solution!

Repeatedly driving on broken pavement, over potholes, or off-road puts different levels of stress on different sides of your vehicle—and unless your suspension is specifically designed for off-roading, that’s going to make the bearings on one side of your vehicle fail faster than the others.

After a heavy rainstorm or a river crossing, you lubricate once more and when you go into the sand, you deliberately do not lubricate.

You’ll also need to be comfortable removing the wheels, brake callipers, rotors, and wheel hubs from your vehicle—and putting them all back on securely again.
