I have a 2012 Chevy Malibu with 130k miles that started making a high pitched squeaking noise towards the front right part of the vehicle. Took it to the shop and apparently need a front wheel bearing replaced.

The mechanic recommended I do both front bearings to save on labor down the road. To remove and replace both front wheel hubs and bearing assemblies, I was quoted $567 for labor and $497 for parts, so $1,064 total.

This work would be done in Southern California. I’m always skeptical of car repair quotes, so does this seem like a rip off?
