So for a month or so, ive had a loud growling noise coming from the rear of my Patriot. It's a 2012, 88k miles, 5-speed manual. The rear's are drums. I went to replace the rear passenger side bearing, and from the start it was a pain. After managing to get the 4 bolts that hold the bearing in place out, no matter what I did I couldn't remove the bearing. For a few hours I tried everything from beating them with a brass rod and a hammer, to using an air hammer. They will not budge. The backing plate came off, (I had it secured so the brake line wouldn't be damaged) but still the bearing wouldn't come out. Is it just fused now to the plate? I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it off.
