Remove any fittings that are blocking your access to the timing belt. You may have to remove the power steering pump, alternator and/or conditioning compressor. Don’t remove any pressurised fittings from the air conditioning compressor.
Loosen the tensioner and re-tension the timing belt to meet the vehicle manufacturer guidelines. Test the tension with a tension tester, torque the tensioner and pivot the bolts to the manufacturer’s recommended torque setting.

Align the timing marks: ensure the crankshaft pointer is aligned with the 0 mark on the timing scale. Arrange the distributor with the timing mark on the distributor housing. Position the camshaft pulley timing pointer with the marker on the engine block.
Slide the old timing belt off the sprockets and position the new timing belt over the pulleys. Be careful not to force the new timing belt.
