For rolling element bearings to operate reliably, proper lubrication to prevent direct metal-to-metal contact between the rolling elements, raceways and cages is a must. When selecting a lubricant to maximize bearing reliability, keep in mind the load, environment, temperature and speed (LETS) of your application, plus the relubrication frequency.
