I was getting a loud humming from my 2011 Chevrolet Malibu LS when I hit 30 mph+. The sound increased with speed. When I turned left, the sound did not decrease. When I turned right it did decrease. I assumed the left wheel hub needed replaced. I ordered a Moog hub and replaced the front drivers side hub. The sound did not decrease and now I had an ABS light plus a Service ECS and Service Traction message. I researched and found that the computer reads and compares left to right in pairs. I ordered the same Moog hub and replaced the front passenger wheel hub.

Metal seals

The sound went away completely. It was a loud humming and now it is completely gone. The issue was obviously the front passenger hub. I still have the warnings. After replacing the second hub I drove about 3 miles home. I hooked up an old scanner and there were no error codes even though the dash was flashing warnings. I looked up how to reset and some said disconnect positive for five minutes/ connect positive and negative for five minutes/ disconnect and press brake petal. I disconnected the positive and negative and touched them together for five minutes then pressed the brake pedal. I reconnected everything, turned the car on and it all came back. I drove for 2 miles and no change.
