water-bearing, adj. meanings, etymology and more - water bearing
There have been quite a few people in your shoes though that have corrected the issue by having ALL their equipment updated for hdmi, verizon did their side, so maybe doing your tv would be a benifit.
Sounds like a HDMI handshake issue. The temporary fix is to change HDMI cable to component as you have done. You did mention the HDMI cable working on same tv for the DVD. Do you have more then one HDMI port on the back of your TV? If so have you tried switching? If this has not been resolved already I would like to help. Can you fill out your info thru this link https://www98.verizon.com/content/verizonsupport/ so that I may access your account?
that isn't 100% true, the original poster found his issue to be his tv, his manufacturer gave him a firmware update for his TV and whammo! his problem was fixed.
Thanks. I tried both HDMI inputs with the same result. I did discover when I unplug the HDMI cable from the cable box, then plug it back in it works. I get a TV signal again, but once I turn the TV off the same thing happens again. Somehow when disconnecting from the box then reconnecting is the only way to establish a "handshake".
otherwise if it didn't work, and the firmware update for both the vz box and your TV don't match, then the next firmware update is quite away aways. component cables should be a temp fix, but if it's truly the firmware then you'll have to wait for that firmware release, I don't think that is going to happen until june or july.
Next issue - how do you get the firmware and what are the risks of destroying the set if you flash it? I understand that Olevia is out
does it work if you reboot the box, if it does then you might use the in home agent to do that, and you would click on your fios remote the menu button then go down to help and then in home agent.
I'm having the same issue: No Signal dui error. Can you tell me where you were able to get the firmware update to resolve the issue. Thanks
My STB flashes "DVI" and the HDMI cable does not work. Have switched out the cable with another known good HDMI cable. The cable is good. The HDMI input on the TV is good. Therefore, the signal from the STB is bad. I Talked with tech support, and they say, "switch to component cables". Really? I spent a bit of money for HDMI capability and cables. They worked just fine since I switched to Verizon. Now, after the STB firmware update, I'm supposed to ditch HDMI?????? My cables are routed behind drywall and it is not an easy fix. Argh! It has been a week now with no TV in my living room. Come to find out, the component cables that are being sent (as a temp fix) won't be here for several weeks??? This answer is totally unsatisfactory. If Verizon is unwilling or unable to make this right, I have plenty of other provider options.
services. The tech ran a cable directly from the box to the termination point in the garage. No dice. I switched the non-DVR box on my Panasonic 32" HDTV with the DVR box that was on the Olevia. Box works well with Panasonic (does get the DVI msg but does not lose signal). The non-DVR box exhibits same behavior on Olevia. Troubleshooting 101 tells me there is most likely

I have been using Verizon fios on the same TV since they rolled it out in Pittsburgh. All of a sudden one of my HDTV's is not working with the HDMI cable. I get a no signal on all HDMI inputs and get a "du1" blinking error. The DVD works through the HDMI & I get a TV signal through component cables (although the picture quality is not as good). My other TV works fine on both HD boxes.
verizon updated their firmware to meet industry standards, maybe your tv doesn't match that standard. it isn't enough that it works with other devices to say that it "100% works" try it you might be surprised.
