Bore GaugeMicrometer

A dial bore gauge is a special tool which is used to accurately measure the inside diameter of a hole, cylinder or pipe.

For over 100 years, we have been engineering, designing and building solutions that meet and exceed customer’s requirements for standard and specialty bearings.

American Roller Bearing Company primarily makes heavy duty industrial class bearings that are used in various industries in the US and around the world.

Cylindrical Roller Thrust Bearings are designed to provide large thrust capacities for a given envelope. When compared with ball thrust bearings, the increase in thrust capacity is much greater. These self-aligning thrust bearings consist of two hardened and precision ground plates, a top and bottom, a milled brass cage, precision ground rollers and a cage band used to retain the rollers. The inside and outside diameters of the thrust plates are precision ground for proper mounting. The cylindrical roller thrust bearings are available in a metric ISO series and an inch series, both series being industry interchangeable.  The ATP self-aligning roller thrust is available in an inch series only. This spherically ground bottom plate of the ATP bearing sits against an alignment plate to accommodate initial misalignment but is not recommended for dynamics misalignment. Applications of cylindrical thrust roller bearnigs include extruders, screw presses, rock crushers, coal pulverizing, lathe tailstocks and oilfield equipment.

The measuring sled consists of three guides and an actuating plunger. Dial bore gauges give you quick and accurate readings on the size, less than perfect roundness or wear.

In conjunction with a micrometer, a bore gauge will give you the exact reading of a bore size. A typical bore gauge is comprised of a shaft with a dial indicator at the top and a measuring sled at the base.
